MRD pipes are hand built from 18 gage 304 SS and 6061 aluminum, they are tig welded by hand by owner Dave Harryman. These are not stamped out, mass produced pipes from thin gage materials, they have a hand- fabricated look that is reminiscent of the days when pride of workmanship was the main concern rather than the cost of each unit. We build our pipes from stainless steel because it is the best material for exhaust systems, SS holds more heat in for better exhaust velocity, SS does not dent as easily as TI  and does not require loose spring mounting to keep it from breaking. Our pipes have superior dimensions and flow better than stock -  resulting in noticable power gains. endcaps are bolted for easy removal when changing inserts or repacking

The SSW/MRD mod pipe was developed with the help of respected engine builder / tuner Eddie Sisneros of Sisneros Speed Works. This pipe allows a fully modified DRZ 400 engine to develop maximum HP, it works well on near-stock engines as well, and is often the pipe of choice for someone who is going to be modding their engine over time and could otherwise outgrow a STD pipe.
